This website was born from a single shared moment... two doctors sitting in a conference session, realizing just how far the conversation about brain health had drifted from the truth.

As we sat there, listening to the speaker deliver their presentation...
...we looked around the stage and saw fancy charts, glossy graphics, and polished slides...
...but...
...it’s what we didn’t see or hear that said it all...
...not a single mention of what it actually feels like to lose a memory...
...to care for someone you love as they slowly change before your eyes...
...or to sit in a clinic trying to make sense of words that sound like another language...
...afraid, confused and desperately seeking answers.
Somewhere along the way, brain health had stopped being about people.
That didn’t sit right with either of us...
...it went against the oath we swore to uphold as doctors with a moral and ethical duty of care.
We started this publication to make neuroscience human...
...to translate what research actually shows into language that families can understand, trust, and use.
Between us, we’ve spent more than seventy years in clinic rooms...
...listening, explaining, and learning how overwhelming a diagnosis or a memory change can be.
We’ve seen the confusion that follows, the misinformation that fills the gaps, and the relief that comes when things finally make sense.
We knew we had to keep fighting to be the change we wanted to see.
Online, there were two extremes...
...on one side, the detached world of conventional science...
...factual but cold, often written as if emotion has no place in medicine.
On the other...
...a flood of manipulative headlines and miracle claims from shameless companies putting profit before the very people they say they are helping.
Neither spoke for truth. Neither spoke for you.
Brain Health Insider was created to be that missing voice...
...the voice of truth and honesty that people everywhere deserve to hear.

Hi there Insider! Eleanor here... I’m a former consultant neurologist who practiced in London, England for nearly forty years.
Throughout my career, I saw patients and families drowning in medical jargon... scared, frustrated, and desperate to understand what was happening to their loved ones.
When I retired, I made a promise to myself... I would spend the rest of my life translating neuroscience into language that feels human.
Thank heavens a former colleague introduced me to Michael at a conference in Spain... it was his idea to join forces and start an online venture to spread our work as far and wide as possible.
My hope is that you never feel lost or alone when you read our words... they were written with you in mind by two retired doctors who truly care.

Greetings fellow Insider! My name’s Michael and I practiced family medicine for more than three decades in Portland, Oregon... caring for patients through every stage of life.
When my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, I realized just how much confusion and fear surround brain health.
I started writing simple letters for my patients explaining what was really happening... those letters grew into the reports we publish today.
When I met Eleanor at a brain-aging conference in 2019, we realized we shared the same frustration... and the same hope.
We both wanted to build something honest... a place where people could find truth without losing heart.
This website is that place... and I’m so happy & grateful you’re here!
